Layang Layang Island is an oceanic atoll and an exotic island situated in the middle of South China Sea approximately 300 km northwest of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia. It is a truly diver's paradise and fondly known as “The Jewel of the Borneo Banks”.
Layang Layang Island lies in 2,000m of ocean and, due partly to the depth, this atoll has become famous for sightings of large species and for wall diving. It is an hour flight north of Sabah's capital Kota Kinabalu.
Layang Layang’s dive sites are famous for the schools of hammerhead sharks, manta rays, pygmy seahorses, dolphins, giant trevallys, barracudas and much more.
Avillion Layang Layang (ALL) is a One Island One Dive Resort and it requires a return flight from Kota Kinabalu. There are 86 air-conditioned rooms in the resort 30 standard rooms, 46 superior rooms, 8 deluxe rooms and 2 suite rooms. Each room comes with its own fridge, TV and private verandah. The resort was designed to look like a Longhouse, the traditional community home of Borneo's tribal people.
